How to Add Custom Products in Print Life Shop Management Software

Introduction

Print Life Shop Management Software integrates major product catalogs, but for suppliers like Delta or AS Colour, not currently integrated, this guide will show you how to manually add custom products to the system.

Step 1: Accessing Custom Listings

  1. Navigate to the Products Section:

    • Open your Print Life Shop Management Software.
    • Go to the Products section in the main menu.
  2. Click on Custom Listing:

    • Once you're in the Products section, click on Custom Listing to open the product management interface.
  3. Add a New Product:

    • Click on the Add Product button to begin the process of adding a new custom item.

Step 2: Filling Out Product Information

In this section, you’ll input basic details about the product.

  1. Brand Name:

    • If the brand is already listed in the software, select it from the dropdown.
    • If not, click New to add the brand (e.g., AS Colour).
    • Upload the brand’s logo (PNG format only; SVG is not supported).
  2. Basic Product Information:

    • Product Name: Enter the full product name (e.g., Classic T 5026).
    • Product Category: Select the appropriate category (e.g., T-shirts, Adult Apparel).
    • Product Description: Copy and paste the product description from the supplier’s website.
  3. Available Sizes:

    • Select the available sizes for the product (e.g., S, M, L, XL, 2XL, etc.).
  4. Upload Main Product Image:

    • Download the main image for the product from the supplier’s website and upload it here.
  5. Save the Product:

    • Click Save. Note that at this point, you may encounter an error as you’ll need to add color variations first.

Step 3: Adding Color Variations

To manage the different color options for the product:

  1. Add a Color Row:

    • Click on Add Color Row to start adding color variations.
  2. Select a Color Group:

    • Choose a Color Group (e.g., White, Black).
  3. Assign Color Names:

    • Name the color for each row (e.g., Red, Blue, etc.).
  4. Upload Color Images:

    • For each color, upload two images:
      • Front Image
      • Back Image

Step 4: Enter Pricing & Weight

To ensure the system calculates accurate pricing and shipping costs:

  1. Verify Wholesale Cost:

    • Log into your supplier account and confirm the wholesale price for the product.
  2. Enter the Wholesale Price:

    • Input the wholesale price (e.g., $11 per shirt).
  3. Leave Quantity Blank:

    • For unlimited stock availability, leave the quantity field blank.
  4. Enter Weight:

    • Enter the weight of the product (e.g., 6.5 oz per shirt), which helps in calculating shipping costs.

Step 5: Adding Additional Colors

  1. Copy Existing Color Row:

    • To avoid re-entering similar data, use the Copy Row option to duplicate an existing entry.
  2. Change the Color:

    • Click Change Color and select a new color for the product.
  3. Upload Color-Specific Images:

    • For the new color, download and upload the front and back images.
  4. Repeat for All Colors:

    • Continue adding new colors and their corresponding images until all variations are listed.

Step 6: Finalizing & Verifying the Product

  1. Save the Product:

    • After adding all colors and images, click Save to finalize the product entry.
  2. Assign to Bestseller List:

    • If this product is a bestseller, assign it to a Bestseller List for easier access.
  3. Verify the Product:

    • Create a new quote and check if the product appears in the list. This ensures it’s properly added.
  4. Use Custom Filter:

    • To view all the custom products you've added, use the Custom Filter option.

Conclusion

Manually adding custom products requires careful input of details, but it ensures that essential items from suppliers not integrated into the default catalogs are available in your Print Life Shop. By following this guide, you'll streamline the process of adding custom items, saving time and reducing errors.

Key Tips:

  • Focus on adding frequently ordered products first to make the process more efficient.
  • Regularly update product pricing and stock levels to keep your catalog accurate.
