How to Create Custom Products in The Print Life Software
This guide walks you through the process of creating and managing custom products in PrintFam, from adding products to configuring images, filters, and pricing.
1. Accessing the Custom Product Catalog
- Go to the Products menu.
- Expand the menu
- Click on Custom Listing to open the Custom product listing page.
2. Creating a New Product
- Click Add Product from the top right to create a new item.
- Upload a Featured Image(the primary image for the product catalog):
- Download an image of the product from your supplier.
- Right click the image to save it to your desktop.
- Upload it as the featured image.
- Assign a Brand:
- Choose an existing brand filter (e.g., Gildan, Port & Co.).
- If the brand does not exist, create a new one.
- Optionally, upload a brand image.
3. Adding Product Details
- Enter the Product Name and Title:
- Example: “Unisex Tri-Blend Tee.”
- Add a Product Description:
- Copy and paste a detailed description.
- Select Product Filters:
- Choose the relevant filters such as fit (e.g., Unisex) and style (e.g., Side-Seamed).
- Assign a Category:
- Example: T-Shirts or Athletics.
- Set Available Sizes:
- Select all available sizes for the product (e.g., XS – 4XL).
4. Adding Colors
- Locate the color options from the supplier’s catalog.
- Download and save each color’s product image.
- In Print Life, Select + Add Color Row:
- Choose a color name (e.g., Sport Grey, Apple Green).
- Select a thumbnail color that closely matches.
- Upload the front and back product images.
5. Setting Pricing and Inventory
- Set the Wholesale Price:
- Example: Enter
$2.00
for base sizes. - Mark up for larger sizes (e.g.,
$3.00
for 2XL and above).
- Example: Enter
- Manage Inventory:
- Leave the quantity blank for unlimited stock.
- Enter a specific number if managing in-house stock.
- Enter Product Weight:

(Important for shipping calculations).

6. Saving and Finalizing the Product
- Click Save to store the product details.
- Refresh the page to ensure the product loads correctly.
- Mark the product as a Bestseller if applicable.
- (Optional) Enable the “12 or Less” filter if you offer small-batch orders.
7. Testing the New Product
- Go to New Quote → Step 1: Add Garments.
- Filter by Bestsellers or search for the newly added product.
- Click on the product to check:
- Images (front/back views).
- Pricing (auto-calculated with markup).
- Size and color selection.
- If any issues arise, refresh your browser or clear the cache.
8. Managing and Updating Products
- Duplicate color rows to quickly add more variations.
- Adjust product images as needed.
- Monitor inventory manually in the future Inventory List (upcoming feature).
- Report any bugs or issues at theprintlife.com.
